With a love for adventure and the great outdoors, we decided after 7 years in Central London that we were finally ready to leave the bright lights.
We started sharing our ideas and reaching out for advice from friends and family. Spurred on by their genuine excitement, we decided that it was now or never. With family roots in Snowdonia, we decided there’s no better place to start looking. The idea of one day creating a home away from home for curious explorers with a sense of community and creativity being at the very core was born.
Every spare minute we had, we searched for that perfect building or space; from chapels to banks, via the shiny and new to the charming but abandoned - everything we saw was a possibility for us. And now here we are. Located in the heart of the Snowdonia National Park with a space that we feel proud to now call home.
We would like to take this opportunity to say a huge thank you to everyone that has listened, advised and guided. And lets not forget, to those who are about to join us on this journey. May it be a great one.

History of Plas Curig Hostel
This charming hostel has been stealing the hearts of many an intrepid traveller since 1945. The house itself has always provided accommodation for those looking to explore Snowdonia National Park. From being a bunkhouse, then becoming a YHA and now as a luxury hostel, the former YHA hostel was about to lose its 1 star rating, but after a complete renovation in 2011 it now stands proudly as a 5 star family run hostel. Christian and Annie took over the reins in January 2018, and have since made some exciting and significant changes to the venue, very much putting a cosy yet adventurous stamp on the place.
The area itself is steeped in history with little Saint Julitta's Church, whose Celtic foundations date back from the 6th century AD. The village of Capel Curig is surrounded by the majesty of the Glyders, Moelwynion, Carneddau and Glyderau mountain ranges and the beautiful twin lakes, Llynnau and Mymbyr.
